I'm sorry to connect under the auspices of bad news but I'm sad to report your Horace Greeley classmate, and my mother, Elizabeth Lee (Durgin) Alson died on August 28, 2014 from pancreatic cancer. You're all invited to a celebration of her life which will take place on December 6, 2014 at Teatown Lake Reservation in Ossining, New York. Please pass this information along to others who may also be interested, and have a connection to Libby. Even if you're not able to attend, I would love to receive any writings of favorite memories, tributes, or photos with her to include in a tribute book I'd like to share with her husband and family. Celebration/Memorial of Elizabeth "Libby" Lee (Durgin) Alson '52 Posted by Kate Alson re: HG1952 on November 19, 2014 Elizabeth "Libby" Lee, 80, died on August 28, 2014. Born in Bronxville, she attended Horace Greeley and Radcliffe, worked for McCall's and Knopf, assisted director Joseph Mankiewicz, and curated at Caramoor museum. Libby loved the arts, travel, nature, animals, and people. She will be greatly missed by her husband Larry, daughter Kate, stepson Peter, son-in-law Jason, daughter-in-law Alice, sister Helen, stepsister Mary, sister-in-law Elaine, her grandchildren Eliot and Eden, and a legion of family and friends.
